Board Resolution 2019-1: Pet Rules / Number of Pets
Supersedes resolution 2010-1, Pet Rules , Size Limitation and 1988-1: Pet Rules / Size Limitation
Effective Date: June 1, 2019
Highlights:
- Domestic dogs, domestic cats, and caged birds are the only animals that may be kept as pets
- Up to a total of two dogs / cats / birds may be kept
- Pets must be vaccinated and registered
- Fish tanks may not exceed 55 gallons, unless in a ground floor unit
- Service animals may be accommondated on a case-by-base basis
- No pets may be bred, boarded, raised or maintained for commercial purposes
- No livestock, poultry, amphibians, rodents or reptiles
- No wild or exotic animals
- No vicious animals
- Animals must be on leash
- Unit owners must comply with Fairfax County leash ordinances and pick up after their pets
